SAMconnects

Front cover of the April, May, and June 2010 issue of SAMconnectsAs Marketing Editor for the Seattle Art Museum, I coordinated the museum’s full-color members publication, SAMconnects, from start to finish: planning the production schedule; distributing proofs for review by more than 25 staff members; collecting articles and text changes from multiple sources; editing text from various departments into a single voice; and managing circulation, mailing, and budget.

During my time in the Communications Department, it became necessary to reduce our marketing budget. I adapted SAMconnects from a bimonthly magazine into a quarterly publication, reducing printing and mailing costs significantly.

Christine was responsible for copyediting and proofing all museum marketing publications such as web content, advertising, brochures, invitations, annual reports, fundraising materials, and the quarterly members’ magazine SAMConnects. Christine excelled at building strong relationships with over twenty writers and was able to build a consistent and seamless voice for the museum, even when faced with multiple content providers. Christine was also in charge of managing the production of SAMConnects which included leading editorial meetings, organizing content, editing, and distributing over 70,000 copies.
Christine is an excellent communicator and a hard worker with a great attitude. I was always amazed at her ability to stay calm under extremely tight deadlines and her ability to multitask through a very heavy workload. I could always count on Christine’s good judgment, professionalism, and sense of humor!
