As the Interim Marketing & Communications Manager for Cybersecurity Grant Projects on a 6-month contract with Whatcom Community College, I wrote and produced a monthly email newsletter, which was distributed to a niche audience of approx. 440 NCyTE academic members, partners, and subscribers.

In January 2021, I led the transition of our newsletter from the Mailchimp email marketing service to the Wild Apricot membership management platform. I collaborated with team members on which mailing lists would be transferred into the Wild Apricot system, and I built draft templates based on the previous newsletter design.

The team’s Marketing, Communications & Web Coordinator and I settled on a design template that combined standard drag-and-drop block elements with custom blocks using HTML and CSS to achieve the mobile-responsive layout we wanted. I used the resulting template to create the January–June issues.
